Requirements

What you need to know

We are always looking to work with potential clients who desire to expand their current pool company or those who wish to successfully enter the swimming pool industry through our services. However, we do have certain requirements before taking on new clients. Listed below are some of the minimum requirements. Please note this list is not complete and final. A final evaluation will be made during our prescreening phone call.

Background

  • You must be legally allowed to work or conduct business in the USA
  • You must not have any outstanding warrants for your arrest
  • You must not have any court orders which prevent you from working on a person’s private property
  • You must have a valid driver’s license

Financially

  • You must have a source of income (or savings) to provide for yourself during the 4-8 weeks it will take for your route to be completed.
  • You also must have sufficient funds ready in advance to pay for any accounts you purchase through us. Payments to us are usually done in increments as you receive the accounts we provide, but you must have the funds available in advance.
  • You must have sufficient funds to get yourself the necessary pool cleaning equipment you will need if you are new to the industry. This equipment is available at wholesalers who operate throughout the country and we will help you set up your account with them. Generally speaking, the cost of this equipment will range from $800 to $4500 (depending on the type of cleaning equipment you get).
  • You must have or have the financial means to obtain a suitable vehicle in which to perform the work.

Physical Considerations

  • You must be in sufficient physical health to be able to perform light labor outdoors. Both in summer heat and winter cold depending on where you live.
  • You must have a spot where you are able to store your equipment and supplies. Most people are able to leave most or all of this in their pickup truck or trailer, but not always (e.g., some rental communities may not allow this).
  • You must have a vehicle in which to perform the work. Pick-up trucks are the most common, but pulling a small (e.g., 4′ x 6′ or 4′ x 8′) utility trailer works just fine.
